Byron Andrew Banghart
Founder/President Director
An avid explorer and environmental enthusiast, Byron “Andrew” Banghart, began developing the concept for 2b4theWorld.com in 2006 after returning from a six-month trip to East Africa. Andrew is an alumnus of Gettysburg College where he studied Health and Physical Education with a focus on philosophy and experiential education. His passion for the natural world began at a young age and was encouraged by his father who took him on many canoeing trips to such places as the Northwest Territories and Northern Ontario. Besides starting 2b4theWorld.com, he continues to freelance as a Landscape Designer, Photographer, and Travel Writer. He is continually motivated by his many interests and love for the outdoors. Derek Arnold
Artist/ Fabricator/ Design Council
Derek Arnold is a 1993 graduate of the Maryland Institute, College of Art. Since 1994 he has maintained and operated his studio in Harford County, Maryland,working primarily in metal. His distinctive large outdoor sculpture is not only creative but extremely complex in its design. Derek's work often includes functioning elements that require combinations of mathematics and physics to create his desired effect. A master welder, he has designed and created many custom railings, balconys, furniture, office decor, hinges and more. His work has been featured in films, magazines, and in public and private collections across the nation and in Europe. Kristina Herz

Kristina Herz grew up in rural Harford County, Maryland, next to the meandering Deer Creek. She graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Environmental Science and now lives in Tampa Bay, Florida. Kristina is a consultant and environmental activist. She maintains a blog Marsh Mucking and is passionately exploring all the natural world has to offer.

Phillip McKnight
Global Ambassador/ Contributing Writer
Phillip McKnight grew up in rural Harford County, Md where he discovered his passion for the natural world. He majored in Environmental Studies at the University of Vermont. Since graduating, Phillip has worked to teach young people how to appreciate nature's beauty and recognize its fragility. He has worked with Wilderness Ventures, the Audubon Society, and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. His love for travel has led him to embark on a round the world volunteering trip. He will be maintaining a blog here on 2b4theworld about his travels with particular attention payed to sustainable living and the cultures that value sustainability.
