On this lovely day let us honor the trees. Like the Lorax of Dr. Seuss beloved story, we should all be speaking for the trees. Without their generous gift of oxygen, life as we know it would not exist. Try to image what it must have been like when the native Susquehannas roamed the eastern forests around the Chesapeake Bay. The virgin forests uninterrupted by highways or bi-ways or mega-smart shopping centers. I know it's hard but I feel it's our duty to reflect occasionally on the way things were.
