How can we embrace a hopeful future to start a worldwide green
revolution?  We live in a time now, where we have witnessed our
imagined prosperity collapse into zeros; and we find ourselves and our
planet changing, evolving, at a remarkable rate.  We find ourselves
bombarded by negative messages much of the time, with media reports of
chaotic events from war to famine to global warming, but the messages
of hope have until recently remained subdued.  Our world is
increasingly connected by trades of commerce and culture; and a
consciousness of our rich diversity is emerging.  There are many
people, from wrinkled grandmothers to college radicals, who work
towards dreams of a positive future.  These people realize that we are
all connected and that we need to work together to make a real
difference.  As Americans, many of us have been brought up thinking
individualistically, loosing touch with a traditional sense of
community.  It is ironic how many then fall into the "popular"
cultural identity trap.  However, a community allows us to find our
individual identity while being supported by family, friends,
coworkers, and true-hearted strangers.  This website is a way in which
we can reach out to others in our community.  In this way, we can
build the network of relationships that empowers us to have a voice.
If we want humanity's course to be steered towards a positive future,
then we must find the strength that lies in each one of us and each
other.

It is both my personal and professional lifelong goal to learn how the
web of life supports and sustains humanity and the wonders of our
natural heritage.
